Gamera II is the name of a human powered helicopter from the
University of Maryland. It broke a record by flying for 50 seconds,
piloted by doctoral student Kyle Gluesenkamp.
The
Sikorsky Human Powered Helicopter Prize
requires a 60-second flight with 3 meters altitude.
The pilot weighted 60 kg, the copter itself 34.
The rotors have 13 meter diameter and turn 20 times per minute. No cheap bike
yet with 150 K dollars, and also size wise yet quite ready for your daily commute.
