This semester I did a cycle of math videos in a Pecha-Kucha type format.
[``Pecha-Kucha type" in the sense of 20-40 slides in 4K resolution with 10-30 seconds
per slide; ``Pecha-Kucha" itself is a very strict 20 slides 20 seconds presentation format,
which needs much more production time, due to its
rigidity. An example from 2013,
which showed me that most of the time is actually spent with polishing each page to fit into 20 seconds.]
This year, the videos helped me to prepare each week for the topic and also served to freshen up
graphics as computer programs need to be curated. The actual lecture is very different and
also contains discussion and interactive group components and lasts 2 hours every week. Also this
spring semester, the videos were only posted here as optional content.
If I should do the course next year, I might try again a different
video type format and there are already some ideas for an other angle.
Here is the video cycle from 2021.
