Atmospheric waves

The dynamics of air is quite complicated. A cool movie of atmospheric waves on CNN of October 24, 2019 demonstrates all kind of partial differential equations. There is first of all the heat equation one can see in effect when clouds evaporate, there are waves moving radially according to the transport or wave equation equation.

Atmospheric gravity waves can be seen in satellite images taken by
Australian weather forecast service Weatherzone on Monday and Tuesday.
The images show the waves spreading out from the coast of Western
Australia, sending ripples through clouds over the Indian Ocean.
The gravity waves were triggered by thunderstorms, with cold air flowing
out from the squalls resulting in a disturbance in the atmosphere.
