The 2004 Math Warm-Up Series will take place from September 21 through 24 in Science Center Hall D. Students interested in any of the introductory-level mathematics courses are invited to attend:
The purpose of the series is to help students review topics needed for their fall courses, to gain advice and insight on the college mathematics experience from Harvard faculty, and to expand mathematical horizons between the beginning of the semester and the beginning of sectioned course meetings.
Has it been years since your precalculus course? Does the phrase "completing the square" strike fear in your heart? Are you wondering about what courses to take for your concentration? Come and talk some math with us.
On this site you can find a list of the talks to be given, short biographies of the presenters, and directions to the Science Center. We hope you find the time to participate in this fun and useful series!
We are very interested in your feedback and improving the Mtah Warm-Up Series. Each session will have evaluation forms distributed. If you want to leave a comment about a session and do not have a form, you can get an electronic copy of the form [38KB PDF] and bring it to the mathematics department.
Cabot Science Library (in the Science Center) maintains an entire section of mathematics textbooks in several subjects. Check it out if you would like a brush-up on a subject you took once before and left your book at home!
