A little less math in the second episode. There is a curvature formula using covariant
derivatives and a magical hexagram (icosahedron projection) or the spiral.
Hippasus appeared because he published something about the dodecahedron in the sphere.
The usually told (and most convincing) legend about Hyppasus is that he
was marginalized (and maybe even killed) because of the discovery of the irrational numbers.
It is convincing because the Pythagoreans most likely would have seen the irrational as something
tainting their philosophy. That scene also features the nicely colorized book of Byrne
featuring the elements of Euclid. This is a gorgeous book.
