Ground Transportation from Prague Airport

You can easily get to the conference site from the Prague Airport by using public bus No.119. You should buy a ticket before traveling at the arrival hall, at ticket machines or at the news stands (if arriving late and all shops are closed buy a ticket from the driver but large banknotes are not accepted). Tickets cost just 26 CZK. The exchange rate is 1 Euro = 25 CZK (Czech Republic Koruny). You should get off at the last stop called Dejvicka where you can transfer to subway line A. The estimated time for the bus ride is 20 minutes. The subway station Dejvicka is marked on the Prague subway map displayed on this website (which can be magnified by clicking on it). The second stop along subway line A (marked in green on the Prague subway map displayed on this website) in the direction of Depo Hostivar is the subway station Malostranska for the conference site. When buying a 26 CZK ticket for public transport you will receive a transferable ticket allowing you to travel for a 90 minute period. If you are carrying any large pieces of luggage (i.e., a backpack or suitcase) you will need to purchase an additional 1/2 price ticket. Passes of unlimited rides on the public transportation system are also available and cost 100 CZK for a 24-hour pass, 330 CZK for a 3-day pass (72 hours), and 500 CZK for a 5-day pass (120 hours).

You can also use taxi to go from the airport to the conference site. Taxi stands for the taxicab company AAA Taxi are located directly in front of arrival halls at Terminal North 1 - exit D and at Terminal North 2 - exit E. Their taxicabs are yellow and use Czech made cars - Skoda. Generally most of their drivers do not speak English. Prague taxi drivers may try to overcharge tourists. Taxi rates are: 28 CZK per km, 6 CZK waiting fee for each minute, and 40 CZK "starting rate". AAA Taxi is one of the most reputable taxi companies in Prague. Tourist rip-offs are reported just occasionally. The taxifare from the airport to the conference site is about 500 CZK (20 Euros).
