Homework
Homework is posted at here. Homework will be due at the beginning of recitation the week it is due.

In determining the grades for the homework three problems will be chosen at random. The break up of the homework will then be

Finishing All Problems: 25% (12.5% for Finishing 1/2 problems)

Problem 1: 25%

Problem 2: 25%

Problem 3: 25%

Calculators and Maple are allowed on the homework but full credit will not be given unless work is shown (where possible). Collaboration on the homework is strongly encouraged. However, each person must write up their solutions themselves and put on the homework the names of everyone they worked with.

Quote From Calculus at Penn: "Most of your work in calculus will be spent on homework assignments. This can be more time consuming than many other courses. The average student should spend at least 10 hours per week outside of class to master calculus well. This includes time for reading text, solving assigned homework problems (the minimum work required), working on computer assignments and discussing the harder problems with your study group. Many students will need more than 10 hours per week of practice."

Exams
There will be three midterm exams and one final exam.
Midterm Exam 1:
The first midterm will take place on Wednesday, February 7, from 5 pm to 5:50 pm. It will cover Chapter 6 (6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.5) and Chapter 7 (7.1 -- 7.7)
Midterm Exam 2:
The second midterm will take place on Wednesday, March 14, from 5 pm to 5:50 pm. It will cover Chapter 8 (8.1 -- 8.5, 8.7, 8.8) and Chapter 9 (9.1, 9.2, 9.5)
Midterm Exam 3:
The third midterm will take place on Wednesday, April 11, from 5 pm to 5:50 pm. It will cover Chapter 11 (11.1 -- 11.4) and Chapter 12 (12.1 -- 12.7)
Final Exam:
The date and time will be announced. It will cover ALL of the topics above, and also Chapter 12 (12.8, 12.9, 12.10)
Make Up Exams:
Make up exams will be given only in rare cases, such as the death of a family member, or mandatory attendance at an official UPenn event. Contact the instructor at least 24 hours in advance, in any of these rare circumstances. In case of absences for religious (or similar) observances, please contact the instructor during the first two weeks of the semester with all specific dates of the requested absence.

Calculators:
You are not allowed to use calculators on any exam.

Formula Sheet:
For each exam students may bring one sheet of paper created by the student. The paper must be exactly 8.5 inches by 11 inches and the student may write on both sides of the paper. No attachments, post-it-notes, staples, paperclips, glue, ect., will be allowed on the formula sheet.
