Heating 2D thin films

In homework 10, you work with a hexagonal lattice. The properties of graphene type 2D materials are still heavily under investigation. In Science News there are some news. It reports about this article and this picture on heated response. The expansion of molybdenum diselenide shows that the thermal response depends on the number of atomic layers. Single layered material exhibit surprisingly large expansion rate. It is still unexplained.
