Braids
As the coefficients of a polynomial
p_t(z) tranverse a path in the complex plane C,
the roots trace out a braid in [a,b] x C.
Here is an example where
p_t(z) = z^6 + 2t^2 z - t
and t traverses the unit circle |t|=1 twice.
Each vertical slice gives the (real parts) of the
roots to p_t(z) = 0 for a particular value of t.
