Math Department Town Hall

Purpose

This is an opportunity to hear the voices of all persons connected to the math department in some way- undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, staff, visitors, etc. Public comments will be recorded for posterity and to begin to hold the math department accountable (in the sense that there will be a record to point to if an issue is continually raised without being addressed.)

Format

  • Facillitators will collect suggestions for topics to appear on the agenda, and form an agenda.
  • Time will be allotted to hear public comment on the items on the agenda. Commenters will be given 5 minutes each, unless a different time limit is agreed upon by majority vote at the beginning of the town hall.
  • Time will be reserved at the end for general public comment on topics not appearing on the agenda.
  • A record of the comments and discussion at the Town Hall will be made available here.
